What is a European Skull Mount?
A European skull mount is a way to display the skull of an animal, such as a pig or deer, after it has been fully cleaned and whitened. This method involves removing the flesh and tissue from the skull, leaving just the bone intact. The cleaned skull is then mounted on a plaque or a wall for decoration or as a trophy. European skull mounts are popular among hunters and outdoor enthusiasts as a way to showcase their hunting achievements in a simple and elegant manner. This method allows for the natural beauty of the skull to be preserved without the need for full taxidermy and is more cost effective.

What Are the Standard Steps to Prepare A Skull Prior to the European Mounting Process?
There are several steps to processing a skull for European mounts. However, one of the benefits of European mounts is that it takes a shorter time to finish than a traditional taxidermy mount.
The first step is to remove the head of the animal.
The next step is to remove the skin from the bone. For this process, the ears are removed from the skull.
After the skin is removed, next comes removing the lower portion of the jaw.
Once the jaw is removed, the eyes are next.
The last step will be to remove as much of the meat & fat on the head area as possible.
The skull is typically cleaned in a couple day process, depending on the cleaning option chosen. (Sorry, but the cleaning process we do is a company secret that we will NOT be revealing.)

Will a Skull Always Be White at The End of the European Mounting Process?
No, not all European skulls come out white. The color of a skull can vary depending on factors such as the amount of melanin in the animals skin. Melanin is a biological pigment that gives skin its color. Another factor is natural oils. Not all natural oils will be drawn out from the skull, but this is a great factor that will give your skull a 1-of-a-kind look.

How Do You Keep the Horns Attached to the Skull After Cleaning?
All horns are screwed onto the skull to keep it from falling off or moving. When the skull is displayed, you will not be able to see the screws as they are place on the back side of the horns and are a dark color to blend in with the horn.
